Investor’s Choice Accounts
Our Investor’s Choice Accounts are daily interest savings accounts similar to a standard savings account at a Bank or Credit Union. Funds can be deposited or withdrawn at any time without penalty, and interest rates are generally much higher than what a Bank or Credit Union offers (see rates & Specials page for current interest rates). Investor’s Choice Accounts require a minimum initial balance of $5,000.
Investor’s Choice Accounts feature no monthly service charges for all accounts with at least a $5,000 balance. That makes our Investor’s Choice Account a great option for investors who are looking for a short or medium term investment. It’s also ideal for investors who need some of their portfolio available on demand and yet want a competitive interest rate on their savings. Click here for Rates.
From time to time MTL is able to offer exceptional rates on limited time specials. See Rates & Specials for more details on these and other great offers.
We offer competitive rates on regular savings accounts and junior accounts.
Special rates for seniors are also available.
Guaranteed Investment Certificates

A tax-free savings account (TFSA) is a very powerful investment option. A TFSA can hold most of the same investments your other registered accounts can hold. Any income, dividends, or growth earned by those investments is exempt from taxation.
If you haven’t invested to your personal limit for your TFSA, you may be paying more tax than you need to.
